Landlords
Landlords are required by the Health & Safety Executive
(HSE) to maintain all Gas Appliances* in
rented accommodation at intervals
recommended by the appliance manufacturers or at least once
per year when no
such recommendation exists.
Operatives like YPS are equipped with specially printed forms
to
satisfy the needs of this requirement.
All appliances (*including electric
appliances) should be maintained in a safe condition and used for
the correct
application according to manufactures instructions. It is therefore essential to
provide your
tenants with access to manufacturers user instructions and acquaint
tenants with the correct use of
appliances.
YPS can supply a guide sheet for each appliance where
manufacturers instructions are missing.
They can be shrink wrapped and attached
to the appliance were appropriate and will give clear and
concise instructions
for basic use, (prices will vary according to your needs).
Installers have specialist equipment, knowledge and
qualifications to maintain gas appliances. It is
illegal for none registered
persons to work on gas appliances in another persons property, penalties exist
within the law for breaches of this
Gas Safety Regulations requirement.
